Ever since the late 1980′s, London Beach was probably the best of all the Gen San Resorts but unfortunately, the owners lost interest in it and allowed it to run down and a couple of years ago it was sold off to a Korean Company who were supposedly going to turn the area into a Bio Fuel Depot, fortunately for the beach going public this did not happen and now there is a new owner who appears to be a pretty switched on guy.
As I have said, in the past, London Beach was the no 1 spot for the beach as not only did they have very good facilities but they even imported white sand in order to make the place look spectacular!
Now, all of the beach cottages have had a facelift with new roofing materials and a coat of paint, the toilets are the cleanest in the city and have all been refitted with all new plumbing and tiles, pretty good but lets hope that it can be kept so good.
The showers and washing areas have a good water supply and the pressure is good. There are plenty of BBQ stands all around the place and garbage cans are abundant.
The kids swimming pool is working now but the big pool is still having
some work done on it. Why people would want to go to the beach and then
swim in a fresh water pool is beyond my reasoning, anyway, it every body
having his own choice in such matters.The bars and restaurants are still being renovated but will be ready for the official launching sometime in mid April and at the opening the local divers will do an underwater clean up in order to get rid of the garbage that accumulates both from people and by accident.
The diving itself off shore of London Beach is not so great but it’s ok for a relaxing dive and for the divers who like to see the tiny macro subjects. There is also a patch of very good sea weed which is delicious but the area is my secret! ask Philipino’s to pronounce see weed and they usually say sewage!
